All kiwi kids and their families should have the opportunity to flourish and thrive. My primary goal is to support healthy child development by identifying and addressing issues as early as possible; and to provide effective diagnostic services alongside therapeutic, child and family-centered interventions that will help all children (and thereby their families) achieve their fullest potential.
Radiate Mind & Body has been created to help you and your family to thrive (again!). I’m passionate about assisting children and their families reach their fullest potential and for life to be a fulfilling, nurturing, joyful experience.
In the fast-paced world we live in today, there are many pressures placed upon each of us and sometimes daily life can have its struggles. I deal with a variety of issues and challenges faced by children and their families, examining the root cause(s) to bring about behavioural and sustainable change. This is all done within the unique context of your family and how you operate to provide solutions that are a good fit for you.
“How do you spell ‘love’?.” – Piglet
“You don’t spell love, you feel it.” – Pooh
– A.A. Milne (from the book, Winnie the Pooh)
Issues and challenges I can support you with:
Trauma and/or abuse issues
Attachment and/or connection issues
Sensory processing issues
Concentration and attention issues
Difficulties dealing with change and/or transitions
“To be in your child’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.”
Many forms of behaviour are a child’s way of communicating something or expressing a need they cannot otherwise do using language.
I work with a wide range of behavioural issues affecting the child at home, school and elsewhere, identifying the root cause(s) and providing interventions along with follow up tools and strategies.
Attachment Disorder Issues
All children need at least one primary caregiver who securely meets their attachment needs in order for them to flourish. Children can develop an ambivalent, avoidant or disorganised attachment style for several reasons which can cause significant ongoing issues in their daily lives spanning into adulthood if unaddressed.
I work with the child and their parent/caregiver attachment figure to strengthen the connection and relationship.
Child & Brain Development
Many children have missed milestones or skipped vital aspects of their development for varying reasons. This can lead to learning issues, developmental issues, concentration and coordination issues and a dominance of one side of the brain over the other.
I use a variety of tools and techniques to bring the child’s overall system into balance and to encourage development in line with their chronological age.
“Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be.”
– Rita Pierson
One of my favourite tools and techniques for working with children is Access Bars (referred to as ‘having your bars run) which involves gentle touch on a number of points on their head which helps to dissipate the electrical discharge relating to the thoughts, feelings and emotions that are keeping them stuck (or behaving badly!).
Children and babies of all ages including newborns benefit greatly from having their Bars run. From the moment of conception we are aware of the thoughts, feelings and emotions of our mothers and the people, the circumstances and environment that surround her and you. Access Bars dissipates and releases the electromagnetic build up in the brain from these experiences creating more ease and space with living in this reality whilst not being at the effect of it.
While a typical session for an adult might last 60-90 minutes, children and babies’ Bars tend to run a lot faster, sometimes even in 20 minutes. They are often more willing to experience rapid changes in their bodies and beings since they have fewer points of view, considerations and limitations about what may or may not be possible. As such, they can actually be more potent and dynamic when running the energies on adults, often shortening the length of typical.
Many children even ask to have their Bars® run as they tend to be happier, sleep better, and have easier interactions with teachers, friends, siblings, parents, and other family members. Parents have even reported noticing improvements in overall functioning and behaviours with increased health and wellbeing and performance in school.

"A child whose behaviour pushes you away is a child who needs connection before anything else."

Having worked with children and their families for more than 10 years, I have a wealth of experience in child behaviour, child development and those presenting with high and complex needs. I also bring my experience as a foster carer; working with children who have suffered from trauma, abuse and neglect and the specialist needs they present with.

I am to make a significant positive difference with whoever I work with, assisting children and their families to achieve their fullest potential.
In my world, there are no bad kids. Just impressionable, conflicted young people wrestling with emotions and impulses, trying to communicate their feelings and needs the only way they know how.
